FAQ: Why does it say to check true or failed then immediately says never mind, don't do that?
Good question! Text on the page is either hard coded (like a normal edit) or dynamically generated by a template (the output of {{Sourcecheck}}
). The hard coded part of the instructions look like this:
- When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at
{{Sourcecheck}}
).
- When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at
When the function of {{Sourcecheck}}
changed, there was no way to go back and change the instructions since they were hard coded in the page. Rather than editing over 400,000 talk pages to remove the old instructions, a simple bot job but a major usage of resources, it says to ignore the old instructions and follow the new ones.
